Monte James Jr.’s practice focuses on contract drafting and negotiation, corporate transactional work, and dispute resolution, including mediation, litigation, and arbitration. He works primarily for owners, developers, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
Prior to joining Allensworth & Porter, Monte served as in-house counsel for GeoSouthern Energy Corporation, one of the largest privately-held oil and gas companies in the country. While at GeoSouthern, he handed corporate and real estate transactional work. His experience as corporate counsel brings a fresh and important perspective to the firm and the clients we serve.
Monte is a native Austinite. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a finance degree from the McCombs School of Business in 2011. In 2014, he earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School. While in law school, Monte was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and served as President of the Baylor Law Outdoor Club.
Monte enjoys running, cycling, UT and Baylor sporting events, hunting, and spending time with his wife, Emily.
