Matthew Cano’s practice emphasizes construction litigation, commercial litigation, mediation and personal injury defense, and has been with our firm since 2001. Mr. Cano is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and represents design professionals, including architects, engineers, surveyors, and landscape architects; owners; contractors; and equipment dealers in construction litigation matters involving contract, tort, and insurance defense.

After earning his B.A. in criminal justice from St. Edwards University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985, Mr. Cano was an Assistant City Attorney in Corpus Christi, Texas, for three years and practiced insurance defense law there for more than 12 years.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Construction Law Section), Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and Austin Bar Association (Construction Law Section), and has been awarded the AV preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell.
