Founded by William R. Allensworth in 1995, Allensworth & Porter, LLP is one of the leading construction law firms in Texas, representing clients in all facets of the construction industry, including architects, engineers, contractors, owners, developers, municipalities, utilities and suppliers.

Allensworth & Porter’s attorneys have extensive experience in serving the legal needs of their clients, with an emphasis on cost-efficient solutions and personal relationships within the industry. The firm’s approach to client relationships brings the full force of all its partners’ expertise and experience to benefit each client, delivering effective, hands-on and cost-efficient constructive counsel. Our History

Allensworth & Porter was founded on January 1, 1995, by William R. Allensworth, who had over 20 years experience as a litigation partner in a major Texas firm, and who. Mr. Allensworth is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, is Board Certified in Civil Litigation and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where he teaches courses in Construction Law and Construction Litigation. Mr. Allensworth has tried scores of jury cases and has handled appeals in both state and federal courts, including several of the more significant construction decisions rendered by the Texas appellate courts. As the firm’s practice grew, he has invited a very select group of highly regarded attorneys focused on the construction industry to join and today Allensworth & Porter is one of the largest and most well-known law firms in Texas focused primarily on the construction industry.

Our first sixteen years was spent in the landmark Sampson Building on Congress Avenue and, though we have now moved into new offices, we are still on Congress Avenue, the center of business, industry and politics in Texas.

A number of lawyers at our firm have been recognized as leaders in their field, through publications including Best Lawyer’s Lawyer of the Year, Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Award Chambers USA, The Legal 500, and Texas Monthly’s Super Lawyers and Rising Stars editions, among others.
