Professional Liability

The lawyers at Allensworth & Porter have developed a niche practice defending architects, engineers (and other professionals, including medical doctors, psychiatrists, and psychologists) before professional licensing boards.  We routinely defend architects and engineers against complaints filed by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE) and the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE). Additionally, we assist our clients with policy advisory opinions and other matters before these professional boards.

We also represent architects, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, and other design professionals in mediation, arbitration, and litigation, for claims arising out of the rendering of professional services for the design, development, and construction administration of various construction projects.  We work directly with most, if not all, of the major professional liability insurance carriers and often begin our representation when the design professional first learns of a possible claim.  In this way, we can sometimes resolve disputes before a lawsuit is ever filed.
